Cheng, Xiang 成乡
成乡女士毕业于上海大学美术学院，师从庄小蔚教授，取得硕士学位。她对玻璃这种材料有着一见钟情的痴迷与热情。玻璃融流中的厚重与透彻犹如她作品中浸透的思想与材料间的沉思与对话。她在创作中注重对工艺材料的理解与掌握，同时又保持了女性艺术家的知性直觉。她的作品“云”曾经荣获全国美展的铜奖。她对其它材料与玻璃的结合也有着浓厚的兴趣，对于她而言，玻璃作为一种材料、一种视觉语言，可以成为与其它材料对话的载体。因此，她在多种材料中的勇于尝试也为她开辟更广的天地。
After receiving her master’s degree from Shanghai University, Cheng Xiang is currently teaching at the school. She has a profound understanding of the material and has created a body of work maturing both in skills and thoughtfulness. Cheng was awarded third prize (Copper Medal Award) for one of her pieces at the National Art Exhibition a couple of years ago and has been recognized as a creative emerging artist in the field.
Xue, Lu 薛吕
薛吕女士生长于上海，从上海大学本科毕业并获得环境艺术专业的学士学位。后进入玻璃工作室修读研究 生学位一年后转入英国的胡佛汉顿艺术学院，获硕士学位后继续深造，师从于英国著名玻璃艺术家坎宁，将是中国第一位在海外获得玻璃艺术专业博士学位的艺术家。虽然她在海外受到西方教育与思想的熏陶与影响，她的作品仍然带有浓厚的中国韵味。她对非透明玻璃材料的选择也是她在研究中颇为大胆的尝试，在白与黑的玻璃的交融与流淌中，创作出犹如水墨的国画意境。
Xue Lu was born in Shanghai and received her bachelor’s degree from Shanghai University. She studied one year at the graduate school of SHU and then transferred to Wolverhampton University in the UK. After receiving her master’s degree in glass, Xue is continuing her studies towards a Ph.D in glass. She will most likely be the first Chinese to obtain a Ph.D degree in studio glass. Though influenced by western ideas and trained abroad, Xue’s works reflect a great deal of her Chinese background and heritage. Using opaque glass, she creates works inspired by Chinese ink paintings.
